FAQ's
The total balance board is amazing for increasing natural strength, while engaging brain strengthening. Most of the time our workouts on a bench, or even a treadmill, can be thoughtless and repeating what we know form years of training. Because of that you will not engage the brain to stay at its highest level. Whatever we repeat without having to correct or make adjustments will leave the brain idle. Strengthening the brain to body connection will not only help you feel your body, and get stronger connections, it will keep you more active, mobile and stop decline in movement, mobility and balance. In fact, it can speed up your reactive abilities and increase speed, thought to action and reaction in all aspects of physical needs. Great for professional athletes to those aging beyond 100.
Using the ground is great. It provides a solid foundation. However, it will also allow for momentum-based movements, lessening the muscle isolation, slowing muscle growth through isolation work and allowing your mind to drift from the workout. We know that mind body connection focus will increase muscle activation so using the board just for mind body connection focus will increase muscle activation so using the board just for working out can not only increase workout intensity but also muscle shaping, firming and growth. We do not recommend every workout on the board, but certainly a minimum of 30% of workouts should incorporate a balance, stabilizing aspect to the weeks training.
The benefits of training on the board is muscle squeeze instead of momentum, control of muscle movement, total focus and increased intensity. You will challenge yourself greater, all gains as purely muscle improvement if done correctly, and your core will always be engaged when balancing. You will also feel more of your body movements that is critical for injury prevention as well as isolating specific muscles.
There is not one way only to get a better body. You have to stay challenged, interested, mix up the training and engage in exercises that bring more to your body function. By using the board, you will also be releasing natural neural chemicals, like dopamine, endorphins, serotonin, BDNF and more that have positive effects on mood, feel good energy, self-reward and success mentally as well as physically. We know that success in game competition as well as individual results are 80-90% mental at the higher levels. By using the board, you are also training the mental control and over-coming higher-level stresses that bring massive emotional and physical success.
You can use the board for almost all workouts, but you don’t need to. The board is a fantastic base foundation builder, not requiring as much weight to tax the muscles. As such, the board can be utilized on a recovery day, giving the joints a rest and stress-free
day, while still engaging muscle stimulation. We suggest using the board twice a week minimum as part of your workout for legs, core, arms and shoulders as well as any exercise you would do standing for at least a portion of the sets. Just as any exercise, you can exhaust the muscle, so remember using the board all the time will actually tire the brain as it has to focus more. However, working out and not challenging the brain to feel and adjust quickly will lead to cognitive decline.
To begin the training, we suggest a minimum of three workouts a week for about 15 to 25 minutes on the board. As you grow neurological strengthening and feel better, you can drop to 2 workouts a week for maintenance. However, the more you do, within reason, the longer the results will stay, or grow, and the more you will feel the strength gained. Like anything in life, the less you use it, the more you lose it.
Absolutely it will. Sports is a thinking and moving activity. The sharper the brain and body connection is, increasing the speed of thought to movement, the better you will be able to adjust, or create, sports related actions. The speed of thought should never be conscious at the highest levels. And by training the brain, so can your cognitive, memory and decision-making rise to the higher levels. Whether a racquet, running, activity or ball event, (even swimming) the sharper the brain and body connection, the better you can be.
Yes, it will, without a doubt. The regular machines we use, or exercises we repeat we can so almost with our eyes shut. The lack of focus and engagement of stabilization muscles can become a weakness over time. By training on the board, you would have to keep adjusting and engaging the full spectrum of muscle fibers. That constant reactive change will go from weight strength to power explosiveness as the ability to fire from weight transference will increase potential leg power when needed.
The positive side of training on the board is the ability to feel small changes. By working to keep the board centered, so will you find weaknesses on one side of your body more than the other. Once you address this, going back onto the ground will help keep both sides of the body firing together. As such, not only will this help with injury prevention by over-compensating with one side more than the other, you will be working both legs equally and that will help the weaker side get stronger, and the stronger side have the help it needs to carry the weight, and strengthen safely. Feel the weakness, correct it, and build higher.
Dynamic tension is a guarantee with any balance work. The muscles work in a more contracted force to maintain balance while also engaging the strength work. Body sculpting is largely successful with muscle contraction more than weight lifting alone.Incorporating the board into your leg workouts, or even at home while talking on the phone or watching tv, the engagement of dynamic tension will add muscular definition. However, positive healthy diet will play the biggest part between weight lifting and body sculpting. The balance board is a great addition to get even better results.
The beautiful thing about the balance board is anytime you are working on the board your core is engaged. IN fact, we have Olympic gold medal, world record holders and NFL Hall of Fame player who uses the board everyday just because of the core engagement. You cannot work balance and not engage the core. We also have some of the most powerful core exercises for strength, tightness and maximum tension on this board that you can find. The workouts include plank exercises that will take you to a whole other level. And with the multiple positions and exercises available, you will never be able to master them all, and also create new variations to increase core power.
The board comes with five levels of resistance bands. The shorter bands are great for biceps and triceps training. However, the greatest difference in the results will be from the isolation, no momentum aspect that the board demands to be successful. You can use regular barbells or dumbbells, but you cannot cheat the demand to great muscular isolation. We strongly recommend keeping your maximum weight efforts to the solid floor, but if you want the burn and toning, get on the board.
By using the longer resistance bands for the overhead press, and the shorter for the lateral flye movements, you can attack the shoulder area with ease. The five levels of resistance bands will allow you to adjust the strength to make sure you keep great form, and lessen the chance of injury. You can also use regular dumbbells or kettlebells too. However, focused concentration in isolating non-momentum-based movement will dynamically hit your shoulder muscles.
There are so many ways to hit the chest muscles. From using the resistance bands, crossing over the front of the chest, or wrapping them behind your body and using a bench-press motion, you can activate the chest muscles. We also have some of the best push-up exercises you will find. And they are unlimited in adapting and confusion the muscle from repetitive sets, that you can never become used to the workout. We challenge anyone to use the board and not walk away knowing they had an unbelievable chest workout. You have to try it to believe it, but you will leave a believer.
The board only weighs 15 pounds and is easily portable with the built-in carrying holes or red ball cavity hold. It does not take up much floor space but it does draw a lot of attention from other gym users seeing your training. The board is already in many gyms and physical therapy offices and is perfect for commercial, private or home gyms. Just expect a lot of people to ask you about it, or want to join in. Your results will be the best pitch to the quality of your new training system.
The resistance bands range from the yellow lightweight bands, up to 5 pounds of resistance, to the black beast bands that provide up to 50 pounds of weight equivalence. The selection is up to you, and having multiple options is easily integrated into the board holes, while allowing different bands for different muscle groups. This prevents over-straining, poor form or momentum that slows results.
Being on the board will mean engaging your butt muscles far more than a floor will. Provided you use the right technique your glute workouts will become more effective. However, we also have leg and ankle straps that will add dynamic tension and glue activation like never before. We believe we have the best buns workouts on the board and firming like never before. Check out our abs, thighs and buns classes. Results quicker and the firmness you dream of.
There are two sets of bands we incorporate into the legs and butt workouts. Firstly, we have the bands that attach to the board with Velcro straps that attach around the ankle. The exercises can stimulate all areas of the legs, thighs, hamstrings, calves, hip-flexors, core, as well as outer and inner thighs. A challenge for anyone with four levels of resistance bands. The second option is the thigh and ankle bands that do not attach to the board but instead encircle the legs. This will create a force with squats, side stepping, leg lifts, lunges and much more. Whichever you dream takes you, the board training will get you closer to the end result you are working for. The beauty is the exercises can be done at home, any time, and when your schedule allows. Especially for new mothers who don’t have the time to get to a gym, yet can grab ten minutes while baby is sleeping.
Scientifically it is proven that balance training is the best way to release neuroplasticity. This is the brains’ ability to learn new, or take on harder, challenges. The brain has its greatest ability to create that style of learning up until around 26 years of age. After that the brain is relatively “fixed” in action unless we again engage in new activities. The best way to do this is to allow the brain to make “errors”. And this is where balance training is amazing. As the brain feels out of comfort, so will it open up to having to quickly learn new adjustments. This action creates a neurological change, and will also lead into freedom for the brain to use that release into any form of learning for the time the neuroplasticity stays open. About a forty-minute window as science shows. However, and this is the dynamic revelation, if the brain does not feel safe, that it is in some form of danger, it will go into a freeze, pause, slowdown or stop state and that means the brain will not flow freely. This is the genius of the poles. Having them engaged into the board allows for freedom of movement, and yet, by holding onto the poles, the brain immediately feels safer, engages in special awareness and “let’s go” of the fear. This allows the brain to maximize its learning curve and release the chemicals to engage many different parts of the brain. Dynamic balance is the ability to stay balanced even through moving changes. Exactly how we increase brain training to the highest level.
The poles are critical for brain function. You do not need to use them, and often we don’t, unless there is a balance fear. However, to gain trust from your brain to let go, you must give it the sense of safety. We also do training for brain and body speed with the eyes closed. By having the poles, or just a pole, as a touch point, so can we increase the brain to body’s ability to feel more and become a stronger force in movement, mobility, stability and reactive excellence. You can do many exercises without the poles,
but if you want to maximize the impact of balance training, having them available at certain times is invaluable. The poles are not to lower an ego, but rather to engage in the smarts and brilliance of the brain itself. The higher the level of training, the better you will be to react and thrive when the poles are not available in everyday life too.
Balance, as we know, comes from the brain, not the body. The body will add strength, endurance and stamina from moving, or adding resistance. But balance itself comes from the brain. This is a connection of thought, action, pressure point engagement for control and then proprioception for sensory messaging back to the brain for “approval” for safety, or reaction. By safely releasing the brain to be challenged, through movement activity that is not “regular” so can we tap into the neural connections and sensory systems that keep us safely moving. No matter your challenge, or goal, working the balance program will naturally engage the brain to body activations, and over time, can improve, strengthen and speed up the inner workings that should be thoughtless. It is fascinating to understand how simple the process is when unleashed. There has been far too long of mis-information when losing balance. Or trying to regain it. Or even taking your balance to a higher level. We were told to get better balance go to the gym and strengthen your legs, core, and hip flexors if you were shuffling. It could not be further from the truth. Reconnect your brain to body, body to brain messaging, speed it up and move, increasing the “stress” on the muscles to gain strength. There are millions of people who adventure the world and achieve amazing physical feats that have never stepped foot in a gym, and people who work out daily in a gym and have balance issues. Everything has its place and order in life. Get your balance with our training board and brain centric program, and you will see results doctors never thought possible. The miracle to recovery is within and just needs to reconnect to be unleashed.
The board can, and is, used by any age that can stand up and has a brain that is functioning to be able to stand. We have children as young as 2 years old playing on the board freely, and our golden generation over 100 years of age that have used it to regain mobility. The level varies greatly and can fit any body. From Olympic Gold Medalists to World Record holder athletes, professional soccer players, Major League Baseball pitchers, to NFL and Basketball players. We have also trained Hollywood celebrities on their own Total Balance boards, but also trained stroke survivors, Parkinson’s warriors, MS and TBI clients as well as children with autism, cerebral palsy, agenesis of the corpus callosum. The benefits reach far and wide and the impact on the aging generation to prevent or recover from falls is unprecedented. The Total Balance system is taking the world over with recovering, and reducing from fear of falling, and prevention like no other system. The beauty is that is it so simply brilliant, inexpensive for the dynamic results, small enough for everyone to own one in their home, and saves time having to be spent going every day to a trainer. In the comfort of your own home. Keeping independence is the key to a better quality of life, no matter your age. Safety is our most important factor and the levels of exercise will meet the user where they are starting from. Wheelchair workouts, walkers, young and old, the Total Balance System will work for you as well as you are willing to work for yourself too. It is all about the
user, and giving them the opportunity to walk the talk. The magic we seek can now be in the work we can do.
Anyone who wants to improve. Bottom line, if we strengthen the brain for movement, and engage muscles activation, it is impossible not to improve with the board. However, it is setup for the safety, progression and empowerment of your natural ability whether a professional athlete, body builder, youth or senior wanting to recover their mobility. If you have a brain, and a goal, we can support your goals.
user, and giving them the opportunity to walk the talk. The magic we seek can now be in the work we can do.
The balance board is only controlled by your movement. This means you will learn to feel the changes and adjust to equal the body effort to both sides, or one side if that is the intention. By making sure both sides of the body, muscular and skeletal structure, are in unison, or deliberately transferring weight with control, you will be able to prevent pending injuries, or strengthen back joints and muscles post injury.
user, and giving them the opportunity to walk the talk. The magic we seek can now be in the work we can do.
Our feet are the foundation for our natural movement. If our toes, pressure points and tendons are not working together and free to activate individually, our foundation is weakened. By using the ball to create suppleness, flexibility and strength we can move in so many directions, free from danger. The ball, when used correctly, can increase full neuron activity from brain to body and back, strengthen feet, ankles, calves, knees, thighs, glutes and core with incredible, real-life action. It can be used on or off the board.
It is imperative to be able to look up and forward when performing brain to body training. When you look down the eyes are telling the brain what is happening and the brain can become weaker in feeling. The messaging from proprioception, and sensory intelligence, will create a reaction faster than the eyes can relay a message of body change. As such we want to increase the brain body speed of information relay, and by keeping the eyes up, or even closing them in a safe environment will increase that connections power.
There are so many tips for brain health. Here are a few simple tips. Sleep well, this is the time the brain clears out accumulated toxins from the day, refreshes the space for the next day by working to place memory retention in the right areas and finds time to regenerate energy. Hydrate. This is critical. Your brain uses over 25 % of the water we drink, and a 3% dehydration can lead to a 20% under-performance. Imagine how that impacts the brains’ ability to work at its greatest level. Exercise. This is perhaps the most important gift we can give the brain. Movement releases chemicals in the brain that impacts mood, happiness, feeling rewarded from achievement and keeps the brain oxygenated at a higher level. With the increase of heart health, so will the blood flow better which is needed for brain activity. Eating well, avoiding alcohol and drugs, meditation and avoiding negative stress will all contribute to a healthier brain. Lastly, finding things you love and avoiding negative environments will keep the brain in a less stressed state and even release oxytocin – the chemical associated with love. What a
great time we can have with adventure, challenges and travel when we love our life. And don’t forget, your brain is your power force in life. Give it respect, do not take it for granted and love your own brain. It is the power behind who you are.
Neuroplasticity is the brain ability to learn, try, and make errors until it finds the best way to overcome life challenges. Once we hit around 26 the brain has learned most of what it needs to know and the free flow of brain changing slows down, or even stops when we get into a schedule that doesn’t challenge our knowledge and activity. To reopen neuroplasticity, the brain has to be challenged to figure out the solution to the issue, and as such is forced to open up to learn. It can take time to open a fixed brain, but there is no better an activity that safe balance training to hit the brain with a challenge. However, unsafe challenges can cause the brain to pause, to freeze movement, which forces us back into the fixed mode – or the I don’t want to try it out of fear mode. The balance board is a safe, challenging, and brain activating program that is proven to open up neuroplasticity, and stay open for a good period of time once the exercises has stopped. The brain can stay “open” to learning new things for over 40 minutes past safe balance training, and is great for kids, students and even professional business people who are constantly involved with new learning. It is better to have 20 minutes of balance activity and forty minutes of brain learning and work, than one hour uninterrupted for learning, especially once we turn 25. OR if we are not exercising. The Total Balance Board is the perfect brain opening training.
Absolutely. With the many foot placement positions, gentle rocking and the diverse ability to support and strengthen the body, Total Balance can be adapted and adjusted to gently increase strength and stability for injury recovery.
As with any piece of exercise equipment, you need to rest and recover. The Total Balance program will stress and workout your muscles in ways you are not use to, so, especially at the beginning, don’t do too much, feel how your body responds and give your muscles time t recover. The one thing that is different with the Total Balance training program is we are also working the brain, and the brain can actually handle more training than muscles, but remember to sleep well and hydrate so we don’t tire the brain out from too many challenging, constant workouts.
The board, fully assembled, weighs roughly 17 pounds.
Yes, the board can be disassembled in under 30 seconds, the flex poles can be shortened, and the board will easily fit into the trunk of most cars.
By retraining the brain to body connection, the neural pathways will strengthen from proprioceptive and pressure point testing and activation. Repeated exercises will help form new, or strengthen current pathways, resulting in better balance. The exercises on the board force the brain to engage, and the cerebellum, our movement part of the
brain, will work for our progress. It is a very simple solution within a complex brain network.
The board, independently tested, proved to be able to hold. Over 2000 pounds in weight before showing signs of fatigue in the material.

The Total Balance was created just to help celebrity Bob Eubanks who was falling a lot. He was living in fear of falls and lost his independence. Dan started the body training as per normal but noticed Bob could not walk confidently and shuffled his feet, but when he put his hands on the wall, Bob could lift his legs easily. Dan realized the body was not the problem, it was strong. Dan started researching brain to body connections and studying how babies learned to walk. Once he understood the brain connections, Dan would put Bob through multiple proprioceptive physical training, but there was not enough simple equipment to make the workout flow, and interestingly challenging in a safe space. Dan put all the exercises needed together and designed the board to encompass all that would be needed. In three weeks, Bob went from shuffling and falling to running 6 mph on a treadmill, running up and down stairs, back playing golf. But the biggest change was in Bob’s confidence to wake up every day unafraid of the dangers of falling, and went back on stage and TV to perform. People saw the change and Dan was requested to start helping others. From family friends, celebrity family members, neurofit rehab centers and more. The results were so dynamic, what was a creation just for Bob became a nationally requested need. The design was approved a patent due to there being nothing like it in the world and the Total Balance system, formerly known as 60uP, was launched. Since then, more than 70,000 people have used the board training system to improve their brain and body health. What started as a project to help Bob Eubanks, has turned into a life changing system with the heart to help people live life better, and freely.

As we age, we stop playing, and the brain stops responding as quickly to physical movement changes. The less we do, the less the brain does outside of the autonomic system. By using the board, we can mimic the movement activation of brain to body needs to keep the neural pathways open, faster in communication and have fin training in a small, safe and quick response setting. No other balance training system can boast so much success, and in such a small footprint.
brain, will work for our progress. It is a very simple solution within a complex brain network.
There is a YouTube channel called 60uP Balance where there are over 300 training classes. There is also a Facebook group with over 3000 members @60uPFitness/Members – where you can find hundreds of pre-recorded live classes and people to communicate with. There will be a whole new library coming too with new trainers, exercises and menu to fit your goals.
Yes, there is a training course that has already been released through the ISSA, with a 16 CEU credit, which makes the opportunity open to become a Total Balance certified trainer / coach.
The brain feeds chemical and neurological reactions from exercise. The more thinking involved, the more the brain engages. For example, doing balance training is much more brain active than simply running on a treadmill, which is pretty much thoughtless. However, any exercise that increases muscle demand, cardio heartrate increase and joint activation will have a form of impact both in use, and sustaining, the brain health aspect of longevity and empowerment.
There are two kinds of balance. Static and dynamic. Static balance is where you stay stationery and practice not moving. This is a basic, inaccurate test to see if someone is a fall risk. Dynamic balance is the ability to move, and stay in control of your bodies balance through changes of direction, height level changes and leaning. To be safe, and able to move faster and more athletically, there has to be a great connection between the brain and the body to adapt and adjust so quickly that balance and power are not lost. By increasing the connection, through balance training, of the brain and body, so can any person increase their levels of reaction and preparing in a split second before a balance issue slows then down, or leads to a fall.
Against popular belief, there is no such thing as muscle memory. What we believed to be muscle memory is actually neuron memory. A muscle alone cannot move. The trigger for movement is the electrical current, provided by neurons, that stimulates muscle action. Muscle movement can be repetitive, meaning the muscle gets used to that action and by repeating it, with more resistance, the muscle can grow and increase size and strength. However, we must create the thought to action, through neurons, to move the muscle as it needs ot, or used to. Fire the neurons and have them communicate through the body and you will engage muscles as they used to move. Hence, neuron memory rather than muscle memory.
The flex poles are provided to give a sense of safety while supporting the body’s own ability to balance. This is critical as the poles give the brain a sense of safety, releasing a free flow state to test and challenge the brain and body connection. Any time there is fear or doubt the brain will pause, or freeze our movement. The flex poles also force the body to rely on the legs and feet to work our balance ability. The metal poles were created for those with greater balance issues, who needed much more support to stand and feel safe. The metal poles do not flex at all. Perfect for early stroke recovery, people
on walkers, canes and in wheelchairs. The idea over time is to advance from the metal
poles to the flex poles. The reason? The meal poles will also allow the hands to control the balance of the board, and move the board with the arms, compared to the flex poles that support the body, and not control the board. Flex will increase brain and foot messaging but both poles have their purpose depending on the user’s ability. The most important part is starting the program safely.
The best proof is in using the Total Balance system and feeling it. With thousands upon thousands of real user, unpaid, success stories, the results are real. Brain testing while using the board proves the dynamic activity created in the brain. That is undeniable. But above all, real use testing is the best way to feel the dynamic possibility with the board, and the levels of challenge it can provide.
The Total Balance system will identify tendencies to overuse one side of the body. By feeling your body’s natural movement, and identifying the added strain on the joints, you will be able to realign your body, equal the weight distribut9oopn and prevent the increased possibility of injury form over use on one side. Added to that, by increasing equal power distribution so should you be able to lift heavier with all muscles working equally.
Firstly, the help comes from getting your parents active again. Movement is key to living and lack of movement is the reason for physical decline, as well as brain health. Falls are the #1 reason that leads to death for elderly, or aging, seniors. By using the total balance system, they will increase their physical activity, increase their balance confidence, feel younger again and maintain their independence. They will also regain self-esteem and be less dependent on others for day to day living.
A treadmill is great for cardio and moving forward actions, as well as increasing speed of foot. However, the treadmill is one directional, and moving in life is not. When on a treadmill, we are hitting the same foot pressure points on each step, not multi-tasking the brain information, and can become thoughtless. The treadmill only mimics one action direction in everyday life. We need to train all directions, and the Total Balance is a real life, daily activity training program that can increase mobility, multi-directional stability and muscle strengthening. There is a place for all exercising, but for balance and mobility nothing can beat the training progression of the total Balance system.
The bosu is a great piece of equipment but it is limited. The foot placement only allows for two widths, or single foot placement. The Total balance has numerous placement to safely engage in so many strengthening positions and testing. The bosu is hard, and even dangerous, to get on to. Many people have fallen off the bosu, or twisted their ankles, and getting off the bosu is even harder than getting on, especially for a person struggling with balance. There are so many more exercises on the total Balance system and the comparison in safety is a no brainer. Total balance is easier, safer and more dynamic to use because of the brain, body and multiple options. And safety should
always come first. The one benefit of the bosu is the option to turn it upside down and use the soft or harder side of the bosu, but Total balance uses the red stability half ball to give a similar effect while also staying safe and reducing any chance of injury or joint, ligament and tendon strain.
Yes, but adjusting your foot position the option to focus on one side of the body is simple. The wide board allows for multiple specific training option decisions.
Yes, and when you feel safe, we encourage it. We do have amazing resistance bands, but the board is strong enough to hold a lot of weight, and anything you safely to do increase the challenge is great for goal reaching. The board allows for amazing creativity and increase of challenge.
For sure, just be careful getting on and off the board. And make sure it is on a non-slip surface. Go light to feel the difference first, and never overload the bar. Once you train on the board to increase your balance, you will notice a quick improvement in power when you squat on the solid floor. Your stabilization will be stronger and muscles more powerful.
When using the board there is no rest of relaxing of the muscles. They will feel tighter, more “pumped” and constantly in use. You can remove the dynamic activity by “grounding:” out the board on one side, but the moment you use the balance engagement again, your muscles are instantly activated.
It is brilliant for sculpting muscles. Dynamic tension will increase the tightness of the muscle, and part of sculpting will be firming the muscle as you move through certain exercise ranges to focus on specific muscles or muscle groups together. With limiting the momentum of a movement, and demanding control, so will the sculpting take on a new level of results.
Absolutely. The training program replicates foot and leg, as well as body weight changes, in a safe and repetitive action. This will increase the confidence, and muscle strength, needed ot trust yourself on a staircase, or on a sidewalk. Just follow the plan and you will regain the power, ability and trust in yourself.
The board is 35 inches across, 24 inches front to back and 4 inches high.
Yes. Using the balance board even a few times a day for short trainings while your baby sleeps, can help firm glutes, thighs and core. The program for ladies is dynamic,
especially when incorporating the ankle bands. If you want a convenient, dynamic and quick workout that keeps you close to your baby, there is not a better body shaper and firmer available. Just follow the programs and then create your own depending on the time you have. Even a two-minute butt blaster can bring excellent results.
Yes, for sure. We have children using it from crawling over it to just playing. The board will naturally increase neural and pressure point activation in children. Just let them play. It has also been used successfully on autism, cerebral palsy and agenesis of the corpus callosum needs to increase balance and controlled movement.

One of the best, consistent results is from those with Parkinson’s. By strengthening the neurological pathways, and keeping the movement and brain connected, you can push back from decline. We have so many success stories and Rock Steady boxing has also incorporated the Total balance system into their program because of the brain activating qualities and body specific results happening. IN fact, one of the top Parkinson’s scientists and trainers stated that “everyone with Parkinson’s should have this”. The board is also a component of a dynamic Parkinson’s group where it is “mandatory” for the clients to use the board and they have regular group training sessions.
Yes, as with any neurological disease, strengthening the system will make it harder for the disease to quicken a decline. We have amazing testimonials from people with MS that are seeing huge improvements and physical recovery.
As the Total Balance was created to engage ane strengthen the brain, it is excellent for TBI. Creator Dan Metcalfe used this system for his own brain recovery. The more you engage daily, without overdoing it, the better your brain will recover.
One of the greatest effects is with stroke recovery. Creator Dan Metcalfe’s mother had a stroke and 79. She was left physically limited. A year after the stroke she was still unable to do simple movements like line dancing, that she had done for years. Dan had recently created the system and five days after his mother using it, she went back to line dancing. Dan was invited into neuro fit centers training to use with their patients and the results were amazing. In-fact, the metal poles were created first for stroke survivors. IF you want to safely recover as much as possible from a stroke, the total balance system is excellent.
Yes, so many do. Some of our greatest supporters and physical therapists. We regularly get unpaid endorsements and every PT that gets on the board and tries it feels, and sees, the value.
Not only is the system endorsed by doctors, we have hundreds of doctors who use the board themselves as they know the value, and need, for brain, body and balance health.
We have many users in their 90’s, but the oldest we know of was 100 years old and did amazing. He got better and was able to increase his strength and mobility. We are excited that that age record will be broken. But safety is always first.
The board will actually let you train sitting in a wheelchair and slowly teach yiou how to stand again, and learn to balance., Slowly does it, and safety is always first. But we have stories of people who have not walked in years getting out of their wheelchair and getting on the board fully supported by their legs, and walking again. The path is the decision of the user. We do suggest following the chair workouts, and when using the board placing it in front of a sofa so can sit back, and let go safely with the sofa behind the user if tired, or wants to let go and sit down.
By exercising, and holding onto the poles, keeping your head up, you will stand taller and reverses the action of “hunching Over”. This is especially important for those using a walker, or cane, as that use will change the curvature of the spine. The Total balance program will get your skeletal structure better aligned and improve your posture with muscle engagement to strengthen around the bones.

Yes, we have a specific exercise program, and how to get up video, that will help you relearn, gain strength and give you the freedom to get down, and up, from the ground.
We love our autism community. We did tests at the Orange Grove center in Chattanooga, with autism challenged people, and the doctors, therapists and patients loved it. The ordered 15 boards for the center. One of the success Actions was the ability to let them play without fear due to the poles, and the isolation of movement without the arms having to move too. Overtime, there is a brain and body connection and control not previously seen.
We were amazed to receive testimonials about blind persons use. We did not think of this at all, but a professional trainer has been using the total balance at their blind school center and, due to the results, has made it mandatory for all students to use the board. The impact? Better, and quicker reaction movement and adjusting to changes than before. We are so proud to be part of this amazing community. By engaging the brain feeling even better, and giving them a safe place to practice foot pressure changes, so does it dramatically improve the natural ability to stay balanced and mobile.
A typical workout is about 20 minutes long but we have trainings of an hour too.
The best judge is to feel your body. We do suggest at least 4 times a week on the board for a minimum of 15 minutes each day, but we know people who use it five minutes a day and still feel results. Repeating workouts is good for familiarity and to feel, see, the improvements. Especially if you find a workout you love. However, changing thew workouts regularly is important to prevent the brain getting used to the routine and
becoming less engaged in problem solving. Rest as you feel needed, both during a workout and between workouts.
Yes, speed will be improved, provided you slowly increase the foot work and speed of activity. We do have foot speed specific training and the results have been excellent.
The step is only 4 inches high. However, we don’t need more to improve balance. Balance is the ability to react to changes as soon as needed. You do not have to be extreme or over testing to build balance excellence.
The step is low for safety, and practicality reasons. Safe, so everyone can get on, and off it safely. Practical as you can do many repetitions instead of a higher step that would exhaust the muscles too quickly before the brain had time to build stronger
connections.
Balance, we know, comes from the brain, not the body, If the brain and neural messaging is strong for movement, the body will react positively. Maintain the brain movement system healthy and the body will follow. The system goes from a thought to move, to the messaging moving to different parts of the brain to initiate the action. The motor neurons will fire to the body part of move, and the sensory messaging back to the brain will activate continued movement or message a change needs to be made. This happens in millionths of a second, over and over again. We need to keep the system in great working order to have freedom of all levels of activities.
As we age, and move less, so will our movement control system weaken. Many health issues can become blockers for internal neuron flow, as well as the desire to be comfortable and so less. If you don’t use it, you lose it is never truer than movement itself. As we age, we also heal slower and as such spend more time inactive. This must be addressed and we must continue to move and push ourselves to do the things that challenge our comfort is we want to live better, longer. Sadly, once you fall, and begin to fear the effects of a fall, the statistics show that decline happens very fast in quality of living and even speeds up the end of life itself.
Yes, by facing front or side, or in-between, we can work all aspects of movement and improve full mobility.
Once you learn the basics, and increase your knowledge of what the board offers in terms of multiple uses, you will be able to adjust s workouts and add your own exercises. However, safety is always first and try things slowly before over pushing the levels.
For sure. Any brain to body increase of connection can bring a higher level of subconscious improvement and increase training, and game day, success.
The board must be used on a non-slip surface. Rubber flooring, carpet, anti-slip mat or regular mat. Do not put it on any slippery, wood, tile or stone floor without a mat between. The thinner the mat, the more the challenge.
Just like any workout, the board can be used instead of a solid floor base. This will increase the need for muscle isolation, focus, better muscle control and overall, more dynamic, non-momentum-based training.
By activating neuron flow to the feet, pushing through blockages, we can increase the blood flow, nerve feelings and, slowly over time, help push back the effects of neuropathy. We have great testimonials of success stories using the Total balance program.
The brain, incorporating the frontal lobe, cerebellum, hippocampus, motor cortex, corpus callosum, brain stem, thalamus, the inferior parietal cortex, occipital lobe and motor cortex all play integral roles in balance and safety in movement. This is all driven by neuron activity and sensory connections from body back to brain. A bit like the engine controls the cars movement, the brain is your engine. Once you understand the importance of the brain, we will also understand how making sure we continued its physical connection is integral to living life itself.
The board itself weighs around 14 pounds, and can be carried using the side or front handles or the front area that holds the red ball in place.

The board has been tested at over 2000 pounds strength and has had 8 teenage make athletes on one board at one time and stood the test of strength. We have also driven a Ford F150 and F250 truck over the board and no damage or resultant bend in any form.

We have used brain electrical flow to test brain activity before, during and after using the board, The session lasted about 40 minutes and the results fascinating. Within ten minutes of training the brain showed a big increase in activity. The effect was sustained, and slowly increased to a higher level at the twenty-minute mark and sustained for the remainder of the workout. The greatest results was showing the brain activity, neuroplasticity ability, stayed at the same level as the thirty-minute mark for over ten minutes after the workout finished. The results and effect are undeniable.
The muscle activation is dynamic with controlled, isolated movement. As a specialist, the =body builder would be able to adapt the training to incorporate the board and feel, see, and know the slight improvements. We would not recommend incorporating the board into every workout, but closer to competition time the added benefits for shaping, sculpting and dynamic stressing of the muscle would be a great addition.
While any time of the day is great for brain activity, we suggest first thing in the morning to “wake up” the brain to body connection. Just get on it while on the phone, social media, eating breakfast and let the brain feel the body. If you are suffering from balance loss, use the board for ten minutes within an hour of sleeping, not working out, just rocking and balancing. This will stay with you in your memory and neural connection while you sleep. Then repeat first thing in the morning. Doing the balance training a few times a day for short periods will increase brain to body connection consistency.
The board can be used without weights, just your body weight, with dynamic results. At the end of the day, all movement is about your body and training that transfers its benefits into real life living.
We love the different foot placement balance challenges, but there are two that are Dan’s favorites. Firstly, watching tv while on the board. Rock back and forth while the show is on (can have the feet in different positions for different strengthening) and balance when a commercial comes on. OR while watching sports. This is like a standing rocking chair, and relaxing, but the body and heart are working out comfortably, without you noticing. Much better than sitting for hours. The results are excellent and the brain is separated from the mind as we watch the show, or game, and the brain is still controlling our movement. The second is the multi-tasking of the brain training, incorporating balance control, with actions and mental testing while balancing. This creates a brain freedom to act without thought and is fun at the same time.
Your regular workouts will improve as the board training will increase muscle control and added dynamic strength. When you are back on a regular solid platform you will find an increase in muscle strength and the ability to feel the stability the ground provides to push harder. Like anything, add a challenge and the normal routine becomes
easier.
You can use the board seven days a week if wanted, but feel your body and rest, or change up the workouts to prevent over-training, burnout and spend more time living life than training for life.
The board is a workout in itself, but you do not need to use the resistance bands of upper body training so see results in balance. The brain will benefit from just being on the board and doing basic movements, and that alone will help balance and mobility to the level you are training. But don’t settle for minimum. Ass you get better results, add a few little extra challenges and feel the amazing effects of getting your life to a higher level of adventure and fun times.
You will see improved mobility, a freedom of movement that will become a new, higher level and a feeling of almost lightness in the day-to-day movements you take for granted. You will get to a point of doing better in movement and will only notice how good you are when you slowly stop focusing on brain to body health, and feel the decline. The goal is to always stay at our highest level of excellence.
The system is good for any and all. No discrimination or limitations. If you have a brain, and want to move better, the Total balance system is for you.
We cannot live a full, healthy and active life without good balance. It gives us the physical freedom to do whatever we want without limitations as far a physical activities and travel.
Once balance is regained, or progressing, the feeling of accomplishment, freedom, happiness, self-esteem, and independence to live again will flood back. It is critical to have good balance and mobility to life a full physical, and emotionally positive life.
The basic system retails at $499 but can be found as low as $399. Accessories to upgrade the system vary in price. The results and rewards are priceless.
The basic system includes the training programs, the balance board, stability poles, red stability ball, yellow resistance bands, and pole key. There are upgradeable bands for resistance training and support items for increased safety and benefits.
We have sold over 70,000 units to date.
We have fantastic reviews from so many real users. No review has ever been paid for and all. Are real users’ actual words. We do have some people who report lack of results, but tend to find those to be the ones who did follow the training protocol, or never actually sued the board at all. The program is the difference and the board itself is not going to give you the results without the education of training that leads the way. The initial impressions is that the board is too easy, but that very quickly changes when the program and steps are used to raise your level.
The system will not work for anyone who does not want to put in the effort, train with it at least twice a week minimum, or who does not believe in their own ability to improve their balance, muscle strength or dynamic ability. It is impossible not to get some gains with the system but if you do not commit, and listen to the training, the gains are limited. If you are someone who will not stick to something that is good for you then the chances of long-term life changes are limited. Bottom line, if you use it properly, it will work for improvement.
It is always best to consult with your doctor or health professional, but we have also had doctors who said it was not a good product, their patients got it anyway, and had such success that the doctors now endorse it. Get professional advice but also know that no one knows everything, and if doctors do not know of the training program, they cannot understand fully the impact it can have.
